American Legion Post #100 held it's annual flag disposal
ceremony Tuesday evening, Octobert 14, at the Post Home.
There were approximately 50 attending. A meal was served
afterwards with the Legion Auxiliary providing dessert.
After the meal Jamison Bennett reported on his experiences at
Nebraska Boy's State. Jamison is one of 3 boys that went
and they were sponsored by Post #100 and Sons of the
American Legion.
Did you know that $1 out of every $10 we spend on
food pays for the packaging?
The Unadilla Area Fund/Foundation met Tuesday
evening, October 14, at the Duncan Building. New
member, Sue Saathoff was welcomed. The main topic
of conversation was the mailings for the All Fund Drive.
Also discussed was repairing the gym roof, plans for a
bike/walk trail at the park, and of course,
Groundhog Day! Those attending were Sue, Peggy
Leefers, Corinne Zahn, Larry Larson, Donna Crownover,
Bob Brandt, and Barb Wilhelm. Light refreshments
were served.

A visit to the local pumpkin patch was on the agenda
Saturday for Bob & Barb Wilhelm and the four grandkids.
What a beautiful day for fun and a hayrack ride to pick out
our pumpkins. Everyone got their own pumpkin and Grandma
picked out a couple "knuckleheads" and about a dozen
"hooligans". It's a lovely place and filled with landscape to
take those all important photos! (I don't know who had more
fun, Bob or the grandkids!) We couldn't talk anyone into
jumping into the Corn Box but we took full advantage of
the other activities.
We have noticed several nicely decorated
fall/Halloween displays around town. It's turning
into an annual tradition just like the
Christmas lights tour.
