You can also do “self-serve” check out and check in of books Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (during regular Village Clerk hours – Corinne will open the library for you to browse and serve yourself).

The BBQ will be here before you know it. Here are some things
to remember: if you are having a garage sale, please notify the
Village Office at 402-828-5355, so your name and location can
be added to the list. Also, let the Office know, if you live in town
and would like a ride down to the BBQ on one of the golf carts;
or if you are elderly or physical unable to attend, and you would
like a meal delivered to your home. We will do our very best
to accomodate your wishes.
So sad to report the passing of Richard Lechner. Longtime
owner of Unadilla Hardware, friend and all around good guy, he
passed June 10. He will be greatly missed. Our condolences to
Kathy, Maggie, Patrick and Jordan, and all the family.
Did you know that a glass bottle thrown away today will still be
here in the year 3000?

Continued get well wishes for Brett Dettmer and Lois Ebert's
grandson, who is waiting for a lung transplant.
Keep your drinking water safe: Check drain lines (refrigerator drink
dispensers, water softeners, heat exchangers, etc.) to be sure there
is an adequate air gap between the drain line and the floor drain
or sewer line into which they discharge.

Friday, 6-14-1918, The Otoe Union:
Otoe County Red Cross raised $27,653.68, coming in above the
quota issued by the state. Everyone was enjoying "new potatoes"
with their meals. "George West went to Lincoln Saturday where
he bought a Michigan car." Several recent high school graduates
were planning on attending the Grand Island Business College.

The classic country band, Three Chords & a Cloud of Dust, with
Ninajean Rohlfs at keyboards, will perform at 12 noon on Saturday,
June 23, at Lincoln's Haymarket location in The Cube.
They will be the opening actof the all-day Veterans' Freedom
Music Festival. There is no charge.
This band has thus far raised over $10,000 for veterans' charities.
So come early for the farmers' market and stay to hear the bands!
