SPECIAL MEETING

VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

March 24, 2020

 

            A Special Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Unadilla, NE, was held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 in Suite 2 at the Community Center.  Location was here to comply with the six-foot distance between people rule. Notice of said meeting was given by posting in the three following places with the village: Countryside Bank, Post Office, and Community Center message board. A copy of said notice was served to each member of Board of Trustees 24 hours before the meeting. Members present were Dan Crownover, Dale Stoner, Janet Oelke, Scott Hincker and Lynn Schomerus by teleconference. Visitors: Gregg Goebel and Steve Cody from Otoe County Emergency Management

            The Meeting was called to order by Chairman Crownover.  He informed everyone where the Open Meetings Act poster was located.

            This Special Meeting was an informative meeting on the coronavirus known as COVID-19.  Gregg Goebel and Steve Cody from the Otoe County Emergency Management were here to give the Board information and to answer any questions.  They also informed the Board of the CDC (Center for Disease Control) was the best place to get information and flyers from.

            It was discussed to keep track of out of the ordinary expenses the Village may have from the pandemic such as the meetings, overtime, products or anything to do with COVID-19 outbreak. Also, to track any losses the Village may have.

            Schomerus inquired about the BBQ in June.  Discussion to have it in June will depend on when the Governor lifts the 10 people together at one time and place rule.

            Hincker made a motion to make an Executive Order temporary suspending all utility disconnections and lien filings.  The balances of any unpaid bills shall accrue without penalty or interest and be effective from today’s date until termination by further order, seconded by Stoner.  On a roll call vote, Stoner, Oelke, Hincker, Crownover and Schomerus by teleconference voted yea, none voted nay.  Motion carried 5-0.

            The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.

The next meeting will be April 08, 2020, 7:30 p.m., at the Community Center in Suite 2.
