VILLAGE OF UNADILLA, NEBRASKA

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

May 11, 2016

 

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Unadilla, Nebraska, was held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, 7:30 p.m. at the Unadilla Community Library. Notice of said meeting and proposed agenda of then known subjects was given by posting in the three following places within the Village: Countryside Bank, Post Office, and Community Center Notice Board; and by serving a copy of said notice to each member of the Board of Trustees more than 5 days prior to said meeting. Trustees present: Dan Crownover, Dale Stoner, Janet Oelke, Sharon Baker, and Scott Hincker. Visitors:  Glen Isaacs

 Chairman Crownover called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. He reminded everyone of the location of the Open Meetings Act Poster.

Hincker made a motion to approve the April 2016 minutes, Baker seconded, and motion carried 4-0.

Stoner made a motion to approve the April 2016 treasurer’s report, Oelke seconded, motion carried 4-0.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

          The amount of the Keno check was $3,022.38

          Water consumed: 751,000; water paid for: 548,000; balance for month:

 -203,000; YTD: -620,000. Clerk stated that Dwight and Arlin have been watering the new grass at the park.

         In regards to Schoolhouse items: The Library is going to host a fund raiser for the history room or Veteran’s room by having a Memorial Day luncheon in the gym, clerk asked for volunteers from the Board to help set up and tear down.

          BBQ preparations are underway.

          Nuisance Properties:  Glen Isaacs appeared before the Board to discuss a plan for the property at 572 H Street.  He asked for time to get some legal matters taken care of and told the Board of his future plans for the property.  A discussion of demolition was held.  The clerk is to locate a phone number and name of a person to do asbestos removal and report that information to Isaacs. The Board asked Isaacs to keep in contact with the clerk on the progress.

          There were no public comments

NEW BUSINESS

 

          The new application of a retail liquor license for Bev and Dan Anderson was brought before the Board.  Trustee Stoner made a motion to approve the new application of a retail liquor license for Nitty Gritty Gas & Thrift, LLC for a

Class D license, Off Sale Only. The motion was seconded by Hincker.  The roll call vote was as follows:  Dale Stoner: yea; Janet Oelke: yea; Sharon Baker: yea; Scott Hincker: yea. Chairman Crownover declared the motion passed and approved.

Baker made a motion to pay claims, Oelke seconded, and motion carried 4-0.

The list of delinquent water and sewer patrons was reviewed.  Dana Boyce, Helen McKenney, and Nora Snyder.

Correspondence: Clerk to attend IIMC Conference May 21-25th.  Rita Compton will be filling in for Corinne at the office.  A building permit was issued to Tonya Johnson to build a new garage and also to Sheena Snyder to replace and expand a deck.  Replacement bulbs were put in a couple outfield lights by Nebraska City Utilities and Roger Kastens will look at the lights in the concession stand.  Thank you to Alan and Sue Saathoff for donating a refrigerator to the concession stand.

The meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
