ORDINANCE NO. 258-16
TO REPLACE ORDINANCE NO. 246-13, SETTING WATER
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CHAIRMAN AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
Section 1: Effective January 1, 2017, there is hereby established a water use charge as follows:
- A monthly charge of $18.00 per month for basic water service, and a $1.00 per month charge for testing fees for each hookup, payable in advance.
- A charge of $3.00 per 1000 gallons used for all water used.
- All users shall pay monthly for said charges
Section 2: Effective January 1, 2017, there is hereby established a sewer use charge payable in advance, of $11.00 per month for ordinary users; $15.00 per month for schools. In the event the Board of Trustees shall determine that other extraordinary uses of said sewer system is being made, they shall be entitled, upon 10 days notice and appropriate hearing afforded to said user, to make whatever additional charges they deem appropriate.
Section 3: A late payment charge of 10% of the charges set forth in Section 1 & 2 shall be assessed on all such payments delinquent for more that 15 days from the date billing is made. If in the event that payment of any of the charges set forth in Section 1 & 2 are in arrears for more than 45 days, the Board of Trustees may terminate said water and sewer service upon the giving of 10 days notice in writing of such intent, and affording the user an opportunity to be heard before at least 3 members of the Board of Trustees, and show why said service should not be terminated. Should service be terminated, a reconnect fee of $100.00 must be paid before said service can be resumed. Nothing in this section shall foreclose or eliminate any other remedies allowed by law for the collection of said charges in Section 1 & 2.
Section 4: For all rental properties, a deposit of $50.00 shall be required of all new tenants prior to the commencement of water and sewer services to a rental unit.
Section 5: All prior ordinances or portions thereof, inconsistent with this ordinance, are hereby repealed.
Section 6: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force January 1, 2017, as a result of its approval, passage, and publication or posting, as required by law.
