Only 2 more weeks until Spring! And with that will come the beginning of softball/baseball season. Some teams have already started practicing. It also means increased activity down at and around the ball park. Please remember the intersection by the Park is now a 4-way stop. Also, please be on the lookout for kids!
Our past Groundhog Queen continues to promote the end of Daylight Savings Time. She describes how difficult this change is for smaller children and adults with dementia problems, not to mention how it goofs up car clocks, fit bits and all sorts of devices! If Arizona can do it why can't we? Keep up the fight Rachel!
TURN YOUR CLOCKS AHEAD 1 HOUR THIS SATURDAY NIGHT
Brody assisted by Dad
We went to Pierce, NE, early Sunday morning to watch our grandson, Brody, compete in a BB Gun competition. Oh what memories it brought back! Both our girls also participated in this sport and the trips we made to the State competitions are unforgettable! (Especially the year Nola West Herman and I ferried a van load of boys to Burwell. Sorry, I'm sworn to secrecy!) A few things have changed but the friendliness of the sport and those involved remained the same.
Of course, we had to stop in Columbus as I had never seen the memorial to A.J. Higgins and the "Higginbottom Boat." It is nicely done. And on the way home we stopped and drove around every town on Hwy 81 between Pierce and Interstate 80. Bob was really impressed with the Stromsburg twon square and the two story band shell. We had intended to head west and maybe see some cranes, but we ran out of time. Maybe next year!
Get well wishes to Glenda Willnerd and the little babe of Joseph Peterson. Continued wishes for Sandi Kimbell, Nina Rohlfs and Dwight Kastens.
