UNADILLA CITY WIDE GARAGE SALES
This Saturday, June 19th

A copy of the book written about Darold Tackett's time in service during WWII in the European Theater, by his daughter, Betty Abel, is now in the Unadilla Library. It is SO interesting! Great photos also. Thank you Betty for sharing it with us.

There is an amazing yucca plant that lives on the corner by Dean & Donna Speth's house. It is bursting with blooms and so beautiful!

Quite a bit of street was torn up on the west side of town due to a water main break. Still be prepared to slow down folks.
The guys who coffee at Nitty Gritty have informed me that there is a new and high tech waffle machine there now. Guess I'll stop making breakfast then?

There was a wedding at our park over the weekend. Driving by Saturday it was decorated so nice and even the park shelter had been elevated to a new level. Congratulations to the couple and we wish you a long and happy married life together.
We went to Brownville this past weekend to see about having a family picnic in their park. Sad to say the picnic tables are still buried in about 2 feet of mud, but someone is doing a lot of cleanup work there, cutting down trees, etc. Also, the south riverboat was open for business!
Then we stopped in Peru; they were having water main problems also. Did you know they list their population as 865? We drove to the top of the hill above the town to check out their cemetery, and guess whose grave we found? John Rhodus. If you went to Syracuse High School before about 1975, you will remember Mr. Rhodus, standing guard in front of the office and telling all the boys to tuck their shirt tails in! We were surprised to learn he was also born at Peru and spent his later years in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
