Last year at this time, we were begging for rain; this year, we could use a teeny break! The Nemaha is higher than it has been in many years.

The fairgrounds got their fair share of rain also. Saturday morning we got almost 3" of rain and everyone was worried about the parade, but by 4 p.m. the rain was over and the parade went on as usual. Hope you had a good time at the fair! Would love to hear some of your favorite Fair stories! Congratulations to all those who participated in any capacity! Photos: Bob Wilhelm

If you are a resident of the Village and have trees on your property, please check to see if you have any hanging into the street. School will be starting soon and remember, buses will be travelling our streets. They don't have as much room to maneuver as cars do. Please, trim back the trees on your property that are near the streets, and thank you in advance.
This spot on the west side of Nitty Gritty captures traveler's attention and then selfie-taking begins! You can call 911, but that's all...
Please note these changes in the Village Office hours:
8-4 Closed
8-14 9 - 1:30
8-25 Closed
Be sure to stop by the Unadilla Community Library to view the quilt display for August. These beautiful quilts were made by Christie Brehm. She is pictured with her granddaughter Rylee. Several of them were award winners at the Nebraska State Fair. Thank you Christie for sharing your talent with the community!
Our condolences to Dan Martacho and family on the passing of his sister Sandra. She was a member of the SHS Class of 1970.
Congratulations to Roger Kastens, who was honored on Saturday, July 29, along with 6 other Veterans, by receiving a Quilt of Valor at the Otoe County Fair. Photo: Karla Kastens
