EVERYONE WELCOME!
Last week after church, we all went to Arlin & Nina Rohlfs house for brunch. What a wonderful time we had; great food and great conversations! Thank you again for inviting us.
We haven't been able to identify the model, but did find out it's a Buick and believe it to be one of the "Woodie" station wagons. Just the top, the back, and around the windows are made of wood. It was resting near Main Street in Unadilla.
Emblem on the back reads "Buick, Eight, Roadmaster"
Looking for a little day trip? How about the Humboldt Cancer Garden? What a hidden treasure! There are new additions again this year. It has been well planned and the garden itself is so well maintained. You'll find local names there also. It provides shelters for quiet reflections or conversartions, and is well worth the trip.
What in the world is going on with our telephone/internet service? The Village Office could not be reached for many days and last we knew, it was still out.
The Unadilla Cardinal Book Club will meet Thursday night, August 24, 7:00 p.m., at the library, to discuss "A Gentleman in Moscow".
Our condolences to the many family and friends of Jess Kirchhoff, who recently passed away. Gone way too soon.
Shelby Wallen has shared some photos from Lucille Wallen's scrapbooks. This one especially caught my eye! (Thank you SO much!)

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO
Friday, 8-17-1923, The Otoe Union:
A large crowd from Unadilla attended the Farmers' Union picnic at Dunbar. Emma Stilwell was thrown from her horse and was "quite severely injured, requiring 12 stitches." The Christian church parsonage was being painted by its members. R.K. Mitchelson and family moved to Lincoln so the children could attend school there. Henry Miller bought the creamery and would run it himself.
