A huge thank you to Jamie Sunderland and Anthony Vidlak for replacing the large American flag at the park. Your generosity and time are greatly appreciated!
Thanks also to Jerry Wallen, Galen Crawford, Andrew Kimbell, Craig Kimbell, Dale Henke, and Bob Wilhelm for the distribution from the Lincoln Food Bank. They served 125+ families. And to Janet Oelke, Bev Anderson, and Linda Liesemeyer for distributing to those unable to attend. We know it was much appreciated.
What a busy week this past one has been with another Groundhog Celebration in the books. Unadilla Billie made the national news thanks to Al Roker!

All went well and by all acounts, smoothly. Couldn't do anything about the rain though, but it didn't slow things down too much! The vendors at the gym had a good crowd, and they served food there, as did the Methodist Church.

Nitty Gritty had some unique Groundhog treats also!

And as always the parade was a big hit, inspite of the rain.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO
Friday, 2-8-1924, The Otoe Union:
"SIGNS DO NOT FAIL: Saturday was one of the brightest and fairest days we have had for a long time. The sun shone brightly all day and the air was soft and balmy. It was also Groundhog Day and if that little beast of ancient fame was able to come forth, he certainly saw his shadow, unless he was blind!" L.F. Parker reported there were so many candidates for County Commissioner, there wasn't any more room left on the ticket!
