Paperboy 250

Friday, 11-7-1924, The Otoe Union:

"Mrs. Eliza Van Horn, who is 94 years of age, cast her first ballat at the election here Tuesday." George "Shorty" Rose was serving on the jury at Nebr. City. Russell precinct officers elected: H.A. Butt, Justice of the Peace; G.W. Brandt, Assessor; and Ed Stanley, Constable. Don Stilwell purchased half interest in the Beatrice Cream Station. Average temperature for October: 60 degrees; .62" of precipitation. Clarence Dively, Hopewell, was cranking a car and broke his arm. (This must have been a fairly common occurrence, as there were others named with receiving the same injury.)

COME ON OVER!

This is the way country music started out, with acoustic instruments, before electricity.  People sat out on the lawn, on the porch, or in a friend’s house and played their instruments together.  Enjoy the originality of music which is still present in many circles of friends.
