Did you know Opal is the birthstone for October? For hundreds of years, due to its colorful array, opals were thought to contain the powers and positive benefits of all colored stones? Romans believed it was the most precious and powerful gem, and a symbol of love, often referred to as the Cupid Stone.

From Cub Reporter Bob Wilhelm

Sunday, October 19th, the Syracuse VFW Post 5547 and the American Legion Post 100, and their Auxiliaries hosted a pancake feed from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Since you can't make pancakes inside the Fair Center any longer, we were looking for another location. They Syracuse Fire & Rescue let us have it in the Rescue side of their building and allowed us to use their grills. This event was wildly supported by the community and we are so grateful for all who took the time to support our cause. We had a great bunch of volunteers and workers that made this a a great success. Thanks again everyone!!!
