Results from the 2026 Groundhog Golf Tournament on 8-28-26
Eighty-seven golfers participated at the Syracuse Country Club
Pin prizes: Hole #1-Carl Ashman; closest to groundhog; Hole #3 - Bob Brandt; closest to pin; Hole #5 - Bob Hallstrom, closest to pin; Hole #6, Brian Rademacher, longest drive; Hole #8, Dan Snyder, longest putt; Hole #9, Travis Walters, closest in two. Putt Putt Putt winners, two teams tied: Jerry Stilmock, Randy Rehmeier, & Roger Smith and Tammy Kohler, Jim Christensen, & Steve Cooper. First Flight: 64-Dick Kohler, Eric Wallace, Caryn Wallace. Second Flight: 66-Ken Lamb, Brian Rademacher, Travis Walters. Third Flight: Bill Baird, Larry Fleck, Mark Czapla. This was the 36th year of the tournament and was held at the Syracuse Country Club.
There was $2400 raised for the Boy Scouts of America, The Rocket Booster Club, and the Youth Pheasant Hunt sponsored by the Nemaha Muddy Hooper Creek Association.
The raffle drawings after the tournament were conducted by the tournament organizers.

"Harvey Whitehead, George Rogers, and several other Otoe County farmers are making good use of their old binders by transforming them into sweet clover strippers. It is quite remarkable how well sweet clover seed can be harvested with one of those machines."
