Test your smoke alarms every month: Make sure you have working

alarms in every level of your home, outside each sleeping area and in

every bedroom. Also, check for fire hazards such as frayed electrical

wires or flammable materials near heating appliances.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Friday, 1-19-2012, The Otoe Union:

J.H. Kelly had the newest wallpaper books. The temperature was

30 below zero. Emerson Van Horn lost a valuable horse to

"the corn stalk disease". Editorial: "Unadilla has one of the grittiest

schoolmams in the county. She has walked six miles every day to

her school in the country and returned in the evening, has never missed

a day or been tardy, and has taught three years in the same

district. It is no other than our own little Anna Cowel."
