We had some beautiful weather Saturday for the BBQ. We had a
nice little crowd at the Resource, History and Veterans Rooms in
the morning. And thank you to Jo Lewis for helping us tackle the
new printer.
The garage sales and flea market did a brisk business according
to all reports. As did the bake sale in the Duncan Building. Thank
you to the Fire & Rescue for manning the concession stand and to
the Christian church for the children's games. Lots of stuff to do: 2
water slides, kids tractor pull, 5K run and walk with 75 participants!
bean bag tournament, Winners: Chris Lutjemeyer & James Lentz),
Fastpitch games and the Tim Boerner Memorial Horseshoe
Pitching Contest. The winners were Michael West & Mike Weyers.

New this year!
Tropical Snow snow cones. Boy did they hit the spot!
Thanks especially to Corinne Zahn and the Village Board for
organizing this and all the "behind the scenes" folks who help
them out.
The helpers who showed up Sunday morning got a great
meal! Just another reason we're proud to tell folks
we're from Unadilla! Great photos Corinne! See them all
on our Facebook page!
Letter from residents:
Lois and I want to thank everyone that made the Unadilla Days and Bar B Q possible.. Lately Lois and I have been dealing with some debilitating medical issues which made our participation in Unadilla days difficult.
It only took one phone call to have someone deliver two Bar B Q dinners to our house.
The food was hot, there was plenty of it and it was delivered to the house promptly at 5:00 p.m. The fact that you provide this service is a real blessing.
We want to thank everyone involved in making this possible.
Lois & Joe Chadwick
Have you seen me out in the early morning taking photos
around town? No, I'm not spying on you! FEMA now requires
"before" photos in case of a disaster and the Village wants to
be prepared. All intersections will be taken 360 degrees and
any other places that could receive damage like the Park,
sewer pond, etc.
Thank you to Norma Jean Boettcher for her generous
donations of items for our Rooms.

Wishing a speedy recovery to Bob Bryan and lots of
patience for Marcia! Continued get well wishes to Nancy
Crownover, Brett Dettmer, Brett Lucas and Sheila Glathar.

NEWS FROM 100 YEARS AGO

Friday, 6-28-1918, The Otoe Union:
"George Ostrander drives a patriotic buggy. It has red, white
and blue spokes." The Boy Scouts spent a week at South Bend,
camping near the Fish Hatchery. Alton Hair, Denver, came to
help out at his father's store. It was called "The Store on the Corner",
run by W.F. Hair, and sat on the corner south of the present
day M.K. Meats.
